Plastic Surgeon Reveals the secret to flawless and younger-looking skin: RF Micro Needling
Click Here to Add Your Service
Double board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Amir Karam reveals the secret to flawless-looking skin – Radio Frequency Micro-Needling. This works by injuring the tissue which results in an increase of collagen production. This device also heats up the skin, which delivers a tightening effect.
For skin rejuvenation, as you age, the skin loses collagen and elasticity. The only way to get around that is by injuring the skin, which then tells your body to create collagen. If you keep that cycle going, the aging process will be significantly slower. Watch all the way through to see the treatment in action on our wonderful patient!

Hi Dr. Karam, I’m very interested in this procedure. Can you recommend any locations near the Austin, TX, area please? Thank you!
Dr. Karam and Jordan, Thank you for taking the time to explain how the RF Mico Needling does not go deep enough in the skin to penetrate the facial fat.
I am personally getting excellent results from RF Mico Needing!!!!
I highly recommend this procedure to improve skin texture and overall a more youthful look.
Is this also known as intracell ?
Thanks so much for your feedback. It’s a excellent treatment. And safe.
How does this procedure affect people with skin of color? Can this be used on darker skin tones safely?
It’s fine as long as it’s superficial
Thanks for the video. I would not describe this procedure as comfortable. It was quite painful at times and far from comfortable. I even had numbing cream applied. I had 3 procedures with Infini. The Dr. is very experienced and well known in the field. I had very good results and have another treatment with Genius in a few weeks. I have also done Ultherapy twice. Do you recommend Utherapy?
@Modest Fera La yes Ultheraphy eventually ages you terribly as it “burns” your underlying tissue. Should be banned
@duke613 That‘s actually the treatment I received already, thanks. If the results weren‘t that good, I wouldn‘t look at this thing twice.. ?
I wouldn’t recommend ultratherapy even to my enemies. Too painful, emptied my bank account & no results in my case whatsoever. I regret it immensely.
@Sara T My doctor switched to Genius which is a more advanced version. It was definitely less painful but still not pleasant. It was def. an improvement.
Totally agree. I have a high pain tolerance but this procedure was really tough to get trough even with numbing cream. The results were impressive though that‘s why I will be continuing the treatment.
What is more effective for acne scars, microneedling rf or microneedling with prp in your experience?
What is the best option for reducing the appearing of pitted acne scars and hyper-pigmentation? I’ve always been on top of my skincare, sunscreen, and diet.
I heard a ton of bad things about this online. A lot of doctors are opting not to do it because it actually ages the skin. Have you found that in your practice?
That is probably true when they use it to tighten the face. Using it to stimulate collagen and keeping it superficial is how you avoid those issues
@DrAmirKaram so short little needles?
What’s the difference between this and fotona 5D besides the injuring vs non-injuring? Will this help with acne scars and skin texture?
Love his research. Makes perfect sense.
What serum do you recommend after microneedling?
thank you both for this great video. can this work on crepy skin on the arms?
Always amaizing information. THANK YOU!!
what about rf treatment only, without microneedling? does it help too?
At home micro needle roller. Then cream or syrum. Always sanitize roller with alcohol after. “Mira Skin” ultra sound device at home 2 or 3 times a week. Face neck and helps reduce surgery scars too.
I would love to get this done as I’m obsessed with skincare etc. I wonder how much the procedure is ?
I got a quote for $3000 for 3 sessions. I didn’t do it because they literally just started offering the service and they have very little experience with skin of color at that particular office. I opted for the micro-needling with PRP instead
@Wendy Eichelhardt what ????
@Wendy Eichelhardt that’s way too much. Was that just for the whole face? For me it was just 500$ for both cheeks plus the temples because that’s where most of my acne scars are. If I had done full face then it would of been 800$
I got a price of about $3,000 for one session
Omg! Me too
Doesn’t it cause permanent loss of volume : fat in the face ?
If the Drs are going too deep into the subcatious fat level then yes you will get fat loss. The needles should only go no deeper than 1mm to keep the treatment on the top part of the dermis where it wont reach the layers of fat in your face. You really need to get somebody who knows what they are doing to perform this treatment.
I believe lots of ppl have complained about this side effect. I wish the doctor would do a video about it.
I had the treatment. The results are instant. But it was painful
Dr Karam , I would like to ask you a question . Why many patients are complainng of ”melting of their fat in the face ” where they have been treated and therefore the results are more loose skin and loss of the fat in their face ? thnaks ,i admire your work
The device they are using goes to deep. I am very aware and careful with that
Doctor, I have developed Dermographism 8 months ago , I’ve been taking anti allergique pill every day since and also I have a sun allergy , if I’m exposed to string sun for more than 2,3 days , it becomes so red, itchy, with huge and painful blisters on my face ,neck chest and arms , it goes away with corticosteroids. Is it possible for me to do micronnedling? If not what’s the alternative? Thank you so much.
Very clear explanation, thank you.
