You seem like a very well-educated, trustworthy individual. I’ve recently been putting forth a lot of thought into plastic surgery and such. I’d like to ask you a few questions if possible and perhaps I could arrange a consultation in the near future. However, I’m only 15. But I’ll be 18 in less than a few years. Only a short while. you don’t get redos as a newbie. he is very confident, which comes off cocky. but it is very very very difficult to get plastic residency. so it gets certain types.
This guy forgets to tell you that plastic surgery is not aesthetic nor cosmetic surgery. Plastic surgery training focuses on reconstruction after trauma or cancer. Resident like himself came out of training with no experience in aesthetic nor cosmetic surgery. Think about it, who wants a resident in training to do your cosmetic procedures…nobody so they have no exposure and will have to learn on the job or take some aesthetic or cosmetic courses after they graduate. Board certified in Plastic Surgery means certified in reconstruction after trauma or cancer. If you want a cosmetic procedure done, look for a surgeon certified by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery….make sense! This guys looks and sounds like a car salesman.
no, it is VERY difficult to get plastic residency. and it’s already difficult to get into a US med school. plastic is the only residency where they get ANY cosmetic surgery training. none of the other cosmetic surgeons got any until they took that certification program, not a residency. so a plastic surgeon can be both a plastic surgeon and a cosmetic surgeon. but none of the other doctors can do that. they can only be a cosmetic surgeon. he comes off cocksure. but i would trust his surgical skills. and that is an excellent advice about knowing your surgeon, not the surgical center.
